Illinifest 2019 Celebrates Student Filmmaking!

Illinifest is the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s student film festival; produced, programmed and curated by UIUC students. The content has long featured the best examples of short-form student filmmaking from around the world. In 2019, Illinifest has shifted its focus to highlight the thriving filmmaking community from our very own campus. The 2019 program consists of short narratives, experimental films, video essays and animations all produced by UIUC students.

For years, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has fostered a thriving community of filmmakers. Student organizations like Illini Film and Video and Photon Pictures have provided collaborative, creative opportunities for directors, producers, videographers and animators. Production classes have offered professional instruction in the craft of making movies. Technology libraries like the Media Commons have offered the technological resources for brining their imaginations to vivid life. This year, Illinifest brings these diverse and innovative projects together for University event that celebrates this tradition of creativity and vision.
